Targeted inhalation - Greater effectiveness
Activaero has overcome a critical milestone in aerosol therapy with FAVORITE Inhalation: precise and indication-specific "Drug Targeting" means that deposition of the drug can be achieved at pre-defined regions within the lungs, e.g. in the lower airways.

FAVORITE achieves this by controlling both the administration of drug aerosol and the inhalation process. By controlling the inhalation pattern, the deposition of drug particles can be navigated to a specific place of action within the lungs - a process called "Drug Targeting".
Targeting the lower airways

In specific pulmonary diseases, such as alpha-1-antitrypsin-deficiency or cystic fibrosis, an effective inhalation therapy must be able to reach even the smallest airways.
The AKITA® inhalation system fulfills the exact requirements needed in order to deliver the maximum amount of drug aerosol to the lower airways. Flow and volume-controlled inhalation using FAVORITE technology shows a clear superiority in peripheral alveolar deposition compared to conventional nebulizers - over 40% of the drug dose is deposited in the lower airways via AKITA2 APIXNEBTM.
